TRINITY ONLINE February 20! Tenting with God

Here is your weekly ONLINE WORSHIP offering!  This week in the Narrative Lectionary/God Story we continue with the Gospel of John.  John has talked about "Born Again","Living Water", and "Bread of Life". Today the author pulls together some of those themes and reminds us of the central idea behind them all....God's Presence.  At the beginning of the Gospel the theme is set out,"And the Word became Flesh and Dwelt among us."  A Very Very specifice word is used which is translated as "dwelt" or "abide"...but those translations don't capture the full impact. The word is "skeenee/skeeno" which literally means "pitched a tent". Living in a tent is very different from abiding in a house...with implications all around.

February 13th TrinityOnline

In Person Worship at 10:30 Sunday is PARKING LOT.  We are watching the COVID numbers carefully and will let you know when we can go back indoors. Soon, we hope!

We also have this ONLINE option! Our thanks to Julie Wieck, Jill Schneider, Luke Polley for their talents in putting this together

In John, Jesus uses and interesting and different time to talk about Communion. not the Last Supper, but the Feeding of the 5000. Enjoy!

TrinityONLINE January 30, 2022

Hello everyone. With Omicron cases spiking even higher than last week this will be our primary Worship for you this weekend. Next Sunday we hope to back out in the Parking lot, and, if things go according to patterns we have seen, we hope to be back indoors soon.

Today's Narrative Story has Jesus cutting through Samaritan territory on his way back up to Galillee.  We often don't understand the latent distrust and even aninimity between Jewish and Samaritan peoples. It was bad.

So things to hear in the story: Jesus reaches out to the Samaritan Woman.  So many reasons to keep his distance. She's the wrong race, wrong gender, wrong religion...and yet.  It's in her question to her fellow villagers that I find a key. In the greek text she says,"He can't be the Messiah." A flat rejection. Then..."Could he?" A glimmer opening the door to God at work where you least expect.

Remember our Trinity Zoom Annual Meeting at 1:00pm Sunday the 30th. Invite coming out soon.

From Pr Wes Concerning In Person Worship

Dear Members of Trinity,

With the spiking of the Omicron varient now reaching Pullman the Trinity Re-Opening (now called Trinity Covid Response) has been meeting and agonizing over our best response.

We will be holding Indoor Worship tomorrow at 10:30am  but please be aware of the risks; especially if you are in a vulnerable group.

When faced with snow or ice we look out the window and weigh the risks,  deciding if it is safe for us to venture out.

With COVID you can't see it, and I think that has created an environment where we are relaxing our guard. In today's paper  the Whitman County Health Director said, "We are asking that residents take caution when planning or attending large indoor events, urging the use of higher quality mask such as KN95 and getting vaccinated."  We are concerned about this spike both from the perspective of individual health, but also the strain it is already putting on our health system.

At Trinity we have implemented the following to create as safe an enviroment as we can::

Communion will be outside on the entrance patio following worship

KN95 masks have been ordered for Trinity and should be arriving next week

Masks are required indoors and please wear a KN95 if you have one

Chairs in the sanctaury have been spread out again to a distance of at least 6 ft

All windows and doors will be open so dress warmly

Choir will be practicing in the Fellowship Hall prior to worship

Air purifiers will be operating.

Our Trinity Online worship is an excellent alternative and can be found on Facebook, our Website,  and email.

You have all done so well in this challenging past two years. As Saint Paul said, "Let us run with perserverance the race set before us."

Pr Wes

ONLINE Trinity January 16th

Here is your Trinity Online worship for the Weekend of January 16th.

Jesus BEGINS his ministry in the Gospel of John with the cleansing of the Temple. obviously John is seeing something different in this event...and not the usually seen righteous indignation of Jesus which begins Holy Week. THat's the way the other three Gospels see it.

So...let's explore...
