Thank you all for your responses to the recent questionnaire about what you expect of the new pastor. Your input is vital for the process.
The Ministry Site Profile is about 2/3 complete now. The team is still gathering information.
The finished Profile will be reviewed by Council and the congregation, revised as necessary, then sent to the synod office.
The next step will be appointing the Call Committee.
The process for calling a new pastor after Pastor Howell retires:
The transition Team completes the Ministry Site Profile (MSP)* by incorporating congregation input. This is about ½ complete.
MSP is reviewed by the Council and the congregation, revised as necessary
MSP is sent to the synod office assistant to the Bishop uses the MSP to match prospective candidates withTrinity; prospective candidates use MSP to discern whether Trinity might be a good match
Trinity appoints a call committee
The assistant to the Bishop presents a list of potential candidates to TLC call committee
Call committee may invite candidate(s) for interview
Call committee presents recommendation for calling a candidate
Congregation decides whether to extend call
There is no set timeline for this process.
*Ministry Site Profile is a detailed description of Trinity and the community, fromsquare footage of the property to mission statement and programs, finances,worship attendance.
On Sunday October 20 you will be asked for your input again with these
questions:
