Still Quilting
Trinity’s quilters continue to make quilts for people in need locally and around the world. The pandemic has changed our process but not our mission. Rather than gathering together weekly to assemble quilts, members each complete a step of the process at their homes, then pass quilts along to the next person, like a progressive dinner.
This month we are sending 67 quilts to the people of Malden, Washington, who recently lost their homes in the wildfire. Lutheran World Relief will receive 132 quilts. Six quilts were given to Trinity’s graduating seniors in June, and one was presented to Dave Schneider in thanks for his many hours given to make online worship available to us.
Working with colorful fabrics to bring comfort and shelter to others is a joyful activity, and all are welcome to join us. No special skill is required. Anyone interested may contact Cheryl Hill or Ruth Nice.
Current quilters include Deb Nelson, Marilyn Burch, Cheryl Hill, Catherine Cross, Doddy Michalson, Susie Gormsen, Anne and Jim Haugen and Ruth Nice.
