Hello All! Pastor Wes will be traveling to Seaside Oregon tomorrow for a Preaching Conference. We are so lucky to have Pr Dawna Svaren who will be our guest preacher and presider at our "in-person".  She will be preaching on the same text: Matthew 5...the Beatitudes.  This video is what jumped out at me...she will probably have a completely different angle. Hello All!  Here is your Word, Meditation and Song for the Week! Right after Jesus is Baptised you would think he could bask in the glory of the moment a bit....but no!  The Spirit herds him off into the wilderness where he is tested.  Every on of us is drawn to a "bright shiny object", someting that pulls us away from being our best self. Jesus' temptations were real...1. Be a Bread King...not only feed yourself but the whole world...but his ministry is more. 2. Glory...have people worship you...WOW! Everyone thinks you're the greatest...magic and miracles... NOPE.  3. Power.  The leader of the world. Armies, Economics, the Ability to MAKE people do as you wish....NOPE.  How would we fare?

Thirty some  of our youngsters will be presenting the Christmas Message and there will be a part for everyone. Carols, Special Music and the Choir cast as the Heavenly Host. Don't miss out!

Hello All! 

Here is your Online Worship and Word for this Weekend!  Our Narrative Lectionary from Luther Seminary rolls us along to the time of Persia.  Empires rise and fall. Egypt gives way to Assyria which is conquered by Babylonia which is conquered by Persia. in a few years Persia will be conquered by Alexander the Great. 

Anyway...there is a sizable Jewish population in Persia and through a series of strange events a Jewish woman, Esther (morning star) ,finds herself in the King's favor and influencial at court. In the midst of Palace intrigues she discovers a plot to wipe out the Jewish people and risks her life to intervene. 

The key line, "Perhaps God has chosen you for this moment for just this event..."
